The short version: the tools on this site run inside the AI you already use, on a report you export yourself. Your financial and Amazon data never comes to us - we don't receive it, see it, or store it. Here is the full picture, in plain English.
Your data never comes to us
Every tool here - the Money Map, the Payout Status Map, the Inventory Map, and the Shopify Fee Calculator - runs where you run it. The Amazon tools run inside the AI you already use, like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, on a report you export from Seller Central yourself. The Shopify Fee Calculator runs right in your own browser. You paste a prompt and work with your own file. That file, and every number in it, stays between you and your AI provider. It never travels to Margins & Me, so there is nothing for us to receive, see, or store. We built the tools this way on purpose: the less of your data we touch, the less there is to worry about.
The personal information we collect
We collect two categories of personal information, and only when you choose to hand them over:
- Your contact details - your email address, if you sign up through "Stay in the loop." We keep it in Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the service we use to send our emails, and we use it only to send you new tools and the occasional plain-English finance note.
- Anything you put in the contact form - your name, email, and message. That goes through Web3Forms, which delivers it to hello@marginsandme.com so we can read your note and write back.
That is the whole list. We only ask for what we need, we don't collect anything in the background, and the financial data you run through the tools is never one of these categories - it never reaches us at all.
Analytics, tracking, and Do Not Track
We use Plausible to understand which pages people visit and which tools get used. Plausible is privacy-friendly and cookieless: it sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and never follows you from one site to the next. We see traffic patterns, not people.
No third party collects your activity across other websites through this site - we run no advertising pixels and no cross-site trackers. Because there is no shared industry standard for how to respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, we don't respond to them specifically. In practice it changes nothing: we don't track you across sites either way, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Selling, sharing, and the service providers behind the site
We never sell your personal information. We disclose it only to the service providers we need to operate the site, and each one only gets what it needs to do its job:
- Kit - sends our emails, and holds your email address if you subscribed.
- Web3Forms - delivers your contact-form messages to our inbox.
- Plausible - privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics: traffic patterns, no personal data.
- Your own AI provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) - powers the Amazon tools when you run them, on the file you give it directly.
Anything you give one of these directly is also covered by that service's own privacy policy. We never share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
How to access, correct, or delete your information
- Unsubscribe any time - every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Want to see what we hold, fix something that's wrong, or have it deleted completely? Email hello@marginsandme.com and we'll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your information, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where the change matters to you, let our email subscribers know. Using the site after an update means the change is okay with you.
